For saltwater fishing off the Florida Panhandle look no further than Captain Fred Trotter. He has over 30 years of experience fishing off the Gulf of Mexico and knows exactly where to take you and what to do, to provide you with a great all-round fishing experience.
You’ll be touring around on a 25 ft Carolina Skiff Bay Boat. This center console was originally built in 2021 and is powered by a 200 HP Suzuki engine, allowing you to cruise around the water up to 35 knots. It’s got onboard fishfinder equipment and a live bait well to keep it nice and fresh for your fishing adventure.
You’ll use a variety of techniques such as bottom fishing, trolling, and jigging to catch native species like Amberjack, Snapper, Grouper, and Redfish. Fishing for Spanish Mackerel is one of Captain Fred’s favorite chases though and he offers specialized charters for this activity.
There’s a hot sun on the Gulf of Mexico so be sure to pack your shades and plenty of sunscreen as well as extra drinks and snacks. No matter the fish you have in mind, Captain Fred will help you catch it along with many more.

GREAT FISHING TRIP!
Capt Trotter called us the day before our charter due to a bad storm that had come through earlier in the day to let us know that what to expect the next morning. The next day when other charters were cancelling due to the high winds, he showed up on time and was ready to go! We didn’t get to fish offshore like we had planned but he did a great job of making lemonade out of lemons! He taught us how to troll fish and jig fish and we came away with several spanish mackerel and a few blues. We had a blast and will definitely be booking with him again! Highly recommend this charter! Thank you Capt Trotter and Travis for tolerating our crazy family!
SIX HOUR CHARTER
Captain Fred does the little things that other Charter Captains haven’t done in the past. He helped my boys ease into the experience. The day was windy so after catching a few in the Gulf we changed our style and hauled in a bunch of Spanish mackerel. Boys were thrilled and a great day on the water!
BEST DAY EVER WITH CAPTAIN FRED
This day was so special to us as we were celebrating my brother’s life with his daughters and niece doing what he loved doing. We fished, caught over 25 grouper, snapper and more just in 3 hours, spread my brothers ashes and even saw the beautiful dolphins. I wouldn’t charter with anyone else. He is truly the best. Too many broken lines and lost bait to count but Captain Fred kept us having a ball. Cheers to the best.

FOUR HOUR TRIP WITH CAPTAIN FRED
We had a wonderful late Dec trip with Captain Fred. Fish were being caught. Red Snapper, Trigger fish and a few other species. Fred was very helpful and knowledgeable. He even had my wife catching fish. On way back in we did some dolphin watching. Fred’s boat can handle a party of 4 which is great for those concerned with being around large parties.
